 Grand Central Station’s Oyster Bar & Restaurant started their annual Holland Herring Festival on June 1 which runs only through June 17th.  So, hurry there and get your fresh herring from Holland. There’s nothing like it!

 On Tuesday June 7th Heineken USA will host “Friends of Heineken Night” when you can get a three course dinner including clam, chowder, mussels and Dutch chocolate sorbet for $20.00.  Freshly brined Herring, bittbrballen meatballs and Heineken and Amstel  Light will be served at the bar.  And you’ll get it all for a mere $20.00. 

 Throughout the 17 day Herring festival. Chef Ingber and his staff will prepare Dutch recipes including crab stuffed eggs, mattes herring salad, mussels in lemon cream, grilled oyster with fennel butte, filet of sole in white wine, crepes with salmon, fried fish filets, halibut and spinach and cod with mustard sauce.

 To top it all, you will have the chance to win a trip for two to Holland by singing up during the festival, courtesy of KLM Royal Dutch Airlines and Northwest Airlines.
