Nervous Benefit

Honoring Christie  Brinkley in East Hampton

by Iris Zimmerman

Although Peter Cook was invited to attend the Ross School Center for Well Being honoring Christie Brinkley at the Starlight Ball, a benefit for the Steven J. Ross Scholarship Fund in East Hampton, they seemed world's apart at the event. A radiant, but nervous looking Christie, there along with her three children, stayed on one side the room, while Peter Cook stayed far on the other side of the room during cocktail hour. Peter stayed closed to his friend, Todd Hase, while nursing a drink, Christie Brinkley disappeared during the cocktail hour only to reappear during dinner, at that time Peter Cook had already disappeared.
Alexa Ray Joel performed for the crowd, returning to the school she graduated from. Her brother, Jack, introduced his sister, while Sailor Cook helped sell T-Shirts bearing her sister's photo and name.
