A LONG BLONDE TRESSED GWYNNETH PALTROW WEARING A VERY SHORT BLACK PRADA AND HIGH HEELED STRAPPY RED SANDALS WITH MATCHING RED LIPSTICK, AND AN EXQUISITE NECKLACE SHOWED UP FOR THE COCKTAIL PARTY AND DAMIANI JEWELRY AUCTION AT THE ST REGIS HOTEL TO BENEFIT HOPE LODGE, A FREE HOTEL FOR CANCER PATIENTS AND THEIR LOVED ONES WHO MUST TRAVEL TO NEW YORK CITY FOR TREATMENTS THAT WILL OPEN NEXT FALL.

GWYNNETH, PRUDENT AND CONSIDERATE, STAYED THROUGHOUT THE EVENT LAST NIGHT (THURSDAY 2 15 07) BUT REFUSED TO SHAKE HANDS, TELLING PEOPLE WHO OFFERED THEIR HANDS THAT SHE HAS A VIRUS AND IS ON ANTIBIOTICS.  WHEN ONE YOUNG ADMIRER TOLD HER SHE LOOKS GOOD, SHE WAS MODEST:  "ITS THE MAKEUP" SHE ASSURED HIM.  THE WINNING TICKET FOR THE RAFFLE PULLED FROM THE CAGE BY GWYNNETH TURNED OUT TO BE ONE OF THE PRINCIPALS, BUT THAT DIDN'T PREVENT HIM
FROM ACCEPTING THE NECKLACE FOR HIS WIFE.  THE EVENT WAS SPONSORED BY ITALIAN JEWELER GEORGIO DAMIANI AND HIS SISTER.  THE GOODY BAG CONTAINED A DAMIANI SCENTED CANDLE, A DISCOUNT CERTIFICATE, HEART
SHAPED CHOCOLATES AND A SMALL BRICK WITH A PLAQUE ON IT THAT SAYS:

"Thank you for being part of The American Cancer Society N.Y.C. Hope Lodge."
